Two adults and a baby were killed in a multiple-vehicle collision in Oakey this morning, January 24.
A car travelling eastbound and a truck travelling westbound collided around 11.15 a.m. on the Warrego Highway near the Oakey Creek Bridge.
As a consequence of the collision, a second collision between the westbound truck and an eastbound truck has happened.
The automobile, which had four passengers at the time of the crash, incurred considerable damage.
Three people perished at the scene: a 40-year-old Roma man, a 38-year-old Roma woman, and a 1-year-old Roma girl.
A passenger and fourth occupant, a 36-year-old Roma male, suffered non-life threatening injuries and is aiding police with their investigation.
The driver of the westbound truck, a 20-year-old man from Kearneys Spring, was transferred to Toowoomba Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The truck’s 55-year-old Brendale driver was not physically wounded and is aiding authorities with their investigation.
The Forensic Crash Unit will conduct an investigation into the incident and issue a call for witnesses, particularly anyone having dashcam or CCTV footage of the accident or the minutes leading up to it.
